A VISIT TO SUB-ZERO, WOLF & COVE SHOWROOM IN MIAMI

How do you select and experience luxury kitchen appliances before you buy them? Test-drive them, get inspired and educated, and see what is possible for your new dream kitchen!

A year has passed since the Sub-Zero Wolf & Cove showroom opened its doors in the Miami Design District in May of 2018. An opportunity to go presented itself when I had to visit a furniture showroom in Dania Beach, so I was just 30 minutes away. I am so glad I finally made it!

The 7,500-square foot immersive experience center and demonstration kitchen features over 135 Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove products. Designed for consumers, designers, and distributors, it was definitely a feast for the eyes! I am sure your senses of taste and smell will be just as delighted if you attend their monthly cooking demonstrations! When visiting, you are welcome to open doors and drawers, and turn knobs. You will not find any salespeople there, and will not be pressured to make purchases. Visitors come here only for inspiration, guidance, tutorials, cooking, and eating.

The showroom is situated on the second floor of a building located at 3711 NE 2nd Avenue, with a convenient parking on the south side, under a bridge. The elevator door opened to a beautiful reception area where I was greeted and offered a cold drink or a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Latte for me! The staff was friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable. (Thank you Paula Lozano and Cassandra Martinez!)

Being on the second floor, coupled with expansive windows, the showroom was flooded with natural light. The space consisted of several kitchen vignettes showcasing stoves, refrigerators, and their newest offering, dishwashers. Their kitchen vignettes were amazing, and a great source of inspiration.

Everything about the showroom looked and felt luxurious. It was thoughtfully and beautifully designed, and it showcased their main products very well. This designer was impressed!

There was not a space or surface that was overlooked. Look around and notice the countertop details, backsplash materials, wall coverings, light fixtures, and furnishings. Don’t miss their logo-inspired ceiling panels!

In the center of the showroom was a 780-square-foot demonstration kitchen with 20 live appliances, allowing guests to experience the products’ features and functionalities. You will also find an elegant lounge, wine room, meeting room, and rooftop terrace.

These industry leaders, in premium refrigeration, cooking and dishwashing appliances, have a long history.

Historical tidbits: Sub-Zero’s founder Westye F. Bakke was a talented engineer and a pioneer in preserving food in ultralow temperatures with a personal goal to develop reliable, high-performance home refrigeration in the 1940s. He was motivated by his need to store insulin for his diabetic son. Using salvaged scrap metal, Westye F. Bakke built the first freestanding freezer prototype in his Wisconsin basement.
